Inauguration Day 2009

Although I did not vote for President Obama, I am overcome with emotion today at the thought of our country inaugurating our first African American President. On a September day in 1862, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation to start the process of freeing the slaves. Thank you Mr. President for you are a True American Hero!!!!!!

So on this day my prayer is that President and Mrs. George W. Bush have a safe trip back to this Great State of Texas and that today is the first day of the rest of their lives.

Also on this day I pray for President and Mrs. Obama that all that he does is in the best interest of his American public. I pray that he and his family are always blessed and safe in their new life. I want to be able to put all of my trust in you President Obama. I am so proud of the fact that as an American I am blessed enough to be here to see history being made.

May God bless both of these families always. President Obama may God bless you and the task at hand, for it is going to be trying at times. Your task is quite a large one,so may you always look to the Lord for guidance, and comfort, as you work to get America back on track.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS,AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Yes God Bless America! It is a very exciting day here, whether you're a republican or democrat. I found your blog through Lea's (oh my #6) and you have a beautiful family!

Kristy,

wow, I love that you are so humble. I love that we (our generation) can be such broad thinkers and see the right and the wrong of all sides.

I am up here cheering your country on! This is a day of history in the making.

Love you friend.

Lea

Your post very accurately describes my feelings about today. I am proud that I can tell my children that they can do anything and race is not a factor-I can point to the president as proof!

love you

Kristey, what a great post. I couldn't have said it any better. God Bless our wonderful Country we live in and God Bless Obama's family too. This was a pretty exciting day even if I didn't vote for him. I'm very proud to be American and happy to be part of this History in the making.

I love the picture you have with the Bush's and Obama so I hope you didn't mind, but I stole it from you and posted it on our blog as well.

Love you my friend,
Sherri

It is so refreshing for a Christian that didn't vote for him to show a Christ like response. I have really been frustrated with the way some Christians have behaved.

Thanks so much for your prayers. God is in control.

I did not vote for Obama either, but I am praying for him as our president and for his family.

He did look incredibly joyful today!

It is good to see so many that didn't vote for him to be supportive.
I did vote for him, and I believe he will do very well with such a tough task at hand.

God Bless The Obama Family, and God bless America.
